Felix-the safari legend I really want to highly recommend Felix as your next guide to the Serengeti. He was fully informed of our schedule and knew exactly where we were to be picked up and dropped off. He has extensive knowledge of the entire region and we were constantly rewarded. He always made sure we had drinks, breakfast, coffee, lunches and dinner lined up at our camps. He called ahead for bucket showers after long days on dusty roads. Okay, he has eagle eyes. His ability to pick out animals in the bush or plains…crazy cool. There’s so much involved with traveling across the planet to a place where you have no idea what’s ahead. Felix is amazing. Felix is the best! We had the pleasure of traveling with Felix as a guide during a two week trip to Tanzania. He met us at our hotel in Arusha and we knew immediately we were with someone special. Felix is personable; funny and kind and also possesses a deep knowledge of all flora and fauna of East Africa. He has a wonderful way with people, but also with the wild world around us. One of our highlights of the trip with him was when Felix heard a specific bird call (an African Wood Owl) and he stopped the car to scan the forest around us. We couldn’t see a bird anywhere, but SOMEHOW, Felix located the bird in the tree canopy hundreds of meters away. He was able to slowly move our vehicle towards it and find an unobstructed view before the owl revealed itself and sailed just over our vehicle. It’s also worth noting he was able to quietly and respectfully bring us near to lions, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, hyena, zebra, wildebeest and the list goes on. And to top it all off, Felix is the sort of guide who takes great care to find secluded places, free of other tourists for a quiet drink at sunset. He knows the roads like the back of his hand and to that end…is an amazing driver of a massive machine. 10/10 recommend working with Felix. When tourist agencies warn against working with “local guides”: Felix is not one of them. His local expertise is what makes him so special and sought after. We even learned on our trip (as we met other tourists) that Felix is a bit of a local legend. The name of his company is fitting. We were lucky to be with him. The Best! Felix was an unbelievable guide. We loved our multi-day tour with him. He went out of his way to do everything we wanted to do. Plus he was extremely knowledgeable about the animals. And a bonus, he knew all about the birds. He and I had the best time spotting and then identifying them. But more than that, we established a bond that has lasted since we were in Tanzania. A magical Tanzanian adventure Our trip to Tanzania was a once in a lifetime adventure so we wanted to it be perfect. Felix didn’t miss a single detail. He met us at the airport in Arusha and was with us throughout our entire journey across the country. From the city to Ngorongoro to the Serengeti, Felix was an incredibly knowledgeable guide and wonderful new friend. He treated our 2 teenaged girls with so much respect and taught them (and us) so much about his country. He listened to all our questions and gave us tons of information. He also worried so hard to find unique experiences for us to explore all that the land has to offer. We saw so many animals and learned much about the people as well. Another enchanting experience in Tanzania Tanzania is one of the world's most beautiful places, and we are so glad we chose Legends to guide us. Felix is an outstanding guide - warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. It's been a while since I last went on safari, but Felix put us at ease and gave us a trip to remember. We saw stunning scenery and the wildlife ..well that speaks for itself. The great thing about having a guide with Felix's experience is that he knows how and where to find the key animals. He combines a tribal understanding, with a Zoologists knowledge. Food, accommodations, transfers and safari experiences were all superbly handled. 60th Birthday Safari Sue and I visited Tanzania August 30th, 2022. This was a gift to my beautiful wife (Sue) on her 60th birthday. This birthday was very important to us since neither Sue mom or older sister Kathy, lived till their 60th birthday, GOD bless their soul, we loved them. I wanted to make sure nothing goes wrong, and Sue would have a wonderful time, there is to be no complications none. When we arrived Arusha, we were greeted by Felix John Mollel, The Legend Outfitters owner and our guide. First impression, customer centric, knowledgeable, and very courteous, I shared with Felix why we are here and what was my expectations were for Sue and her 60th Birthday. Felix took it upon himself and clear his entire week schedule just to make sure he is with us and guided us as if he was my younger brother just hanging out as a family, what a pleasure to get to know him. Value Add: Comfortable vehicles, blankets, drinks, and a breath of knowledge of the entire Tanzania Plato. Listening to Felix is like reading and combing through encyclopedia, no question stumped him. As we entered Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Felix explained the significance of the area and what to expect, he even waited for Sue to take hundreds of pics, no sir he was not going to question her or ask her to back down, he wanted to sue to have a wonderful time as if she is the only client onsite, I am in tears as I am writing this review. Not only Felix cared about our trip but also made sure anywhere we go he is a call away. We absolutely loved The Legend Outfitters and cannot wait to bring all our family to meet with Felix.
